Australian thespian John Noble is best known to the U.S. crowd for a pair of pleasingly unhinged performances. In Peter Jackson’s “The Lord of the Rings” saga, he brought wild-eyed tragedy to the role of fallen king Denethor. And in Fox’s sci-fi hit “Fringe,” he embodies the central part of mad scientist Walter Bishop with unabashed vigor. More..Posted in John Noble
Deej writes: Unfortunately, due to work commitments John Noble will not be attending DragonCon this year. However, the wonderful Craig Parker was just added to the guest list! He joins the impressive lineup of Tolkien scholars and artists already confirmed, as well as TORn’s own MrCere and his eagerly awaited panel on the upcoming ‘Hobbit’ film. The 2009 DragonCon schedule promises to be interesting and fun and features John Noble, a list of speakers and even TheOneRing.net. The event takes place annually, this year September 4-7, in a series of hotels in downtown Atlanta, Georgia. You can read details about the convention here and all the details of the Tolkien programming right here. TORn is scheduled to present an unauthorized look at everything we know so far about the production of ‘The Hobbit’ films and then present for discussion many of the things still open for speculation just as official pre-production begins.Posted in Conventions, DragonCon, Events, Hobbit Book, Hobbit Movie, John Noble, LotR Cast News, Rumors Spy News, The Hobbit

You wouldn’t likely recognize the name Laurie Battle, but you’d be familiar with her work. Laurie has managed Tolkien Enterprises through thick and thin, storm and fair weather, for the last three decades, and probably knows more about the ins and outs of Tolkiendom than most.
So, of course when she replied enthusiatically to my slightly timid request concerning the eventual possibility of maybe considering the idea of one day doing a guest newsletter, I was delighted. Laurie has written about magical borders, clearly demonstrating that myth is never wholly a question of geographical boundaries. (more…)Posted in John Noble

He will be there Saturday attending the Saturday Night Dessert party, John will be having an exclusive luncheon for five fans. More news soon. Also at the con are some interesting folks like: JERI RYAN, LINDA HAMILTON, MICHELLE FORBES, KELLAN LUTZ, MICHAEL WELCH, ASHLEY GREENE (all 3 Twilight), SENDHIL RAMAMURTHY (HEROESʼ Mohinder Suresh), CHARISMA CARPENTER. Take a look at Creation’s LA Con page.Posted in Conventions, Events, John Noble
It has been well documented that Guillermo del Toro will approach the original The Lord of the Rings cast to reprise their roles in Middle-earth should the script call for it. News comes today from the MTV Movie Blog that one such actor, John Noble, won’t be available:

From zap2it.com: John Noble has scored one of the leads in FOX’s J.J. Abrams-produced drama series “Fringe.” … Scripted by Abrams and frequent cohorts Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman, “Fringe” focuses on a young female FBI agent whose investigations into unexplained phenomena lead her to an eccentric research scientist (Noble) and his estranged son…While his credits include “Fracture,” “Running Scared” and TV appearances including “24″ and “Journeyman,” Noble is almost certainly best known from his work as Denethor in “The Return of the King.” FOX’s ‘Fringe’ Adds ‘Lord of the Rings’ Co-StarPosted in John Noble
Asfaloth writes: I don’t know if anyone else is a fan of the NBC Time Traveler show “Journeyman,” but I was pleasantly surprised to see a familiar face on last night’s episode. None other than John Noble! His character is as yet uncredited on the IMDB, but it appears that he’ll be a series regular.
And yet there’s another “Lord of the Rings” tie to this show. “RINGERS: LORD OF THE FANS” Dorm Girl #1 Brittany Ishibashi played Melissa Waters on the episode entitled “The Year of the Rabbit.” I hope that John will be appearing on future episodes – it’s a pretty good show.Posted in John Noble, Television
