Our friends at Weta Workshop have a couple new additions for your growing Hobbiton Collection. A piece of Hobbiton that fans have been asking to be made for quite some time is now available to buy: the beautiful Hobbiton Mill and Bridge has arrived! Due out in November, fans can get this beautiful looking piece for $199. While this is an open edition piece, don’t wait too long to order or you could end up missing out. Additionally, the Hobbiton Mill and Bridge isn’t the only piece of Hobbiton to be announced: Hobbit Hole 31 Lakeside is designed to join the mill. You can purchase this Hobbit-hole for $49, with an arrival date of October of this year.
As we told you back in March the awesome folks at Diamond Select Toys has reintroduced collectors to action figures from The Lord of the Rings. The first set from that launch is now for sale and fans can go snag two members of the Fellowship that created a fantastic friendship. The first two figures are none other than Legolas and Gimli. Both figures are in 7 inch scale with 16 points of articulation. Slated to come out in the fall you can buy these figures seperatly from various retailers for $25 or from Diamond Select Toys themselves for $50.
If you were lucky enough to attend opening day at the Emerald City Comic-Con in Seattle, Washington today, you may have had the opportunity to get an up-close look at the next awesome statue from our friends at Weta Workshop in their The Lord of The Rings statue line. Adding to the amazing scene set-up with the Boromir and Lurtz statues, we now have Aragorn at Amon Hen. In this piece, we get to see Aragorn as he races back to help save Boromir who has blown The Horn of Gondor in desperation as he defends Merry and Pippin from attack by Saruman’s Uruk-hai Orcs. Fans can sign up to be notified when this beautiful statue goes up for order, and as soon as it does you can count on us to let you know.
As we mentioned a while back, we have a new player in the Middle-earth Collectibles game. Iron Studios is going to be producing collectibles based on the best trilogy of all-time: “The Lord of the Rings,” of course! These pieces will be produced in 1:10 scale, which is smaller than other collectibles based on the trilogy. Despite being smaller from what we can see in the production photos the to be very well made. I have had the chance to see their Marvel pieces up close, so I have very high hopes we’re in for a real treat! All four pieces Gandalf the Grey, Frodo Baggins, standing Ringwraith, and attacking Ringwraith can be pre-ordered right now. They range from $95 for Frodo to $115 for Gandalf the Grey. Collectors can expect all of these figures to start landing during quarter four of 2019.
Earlier today, Amazon Prime revealed yet another map of Middle-earth, along with text completing the Ring Verse, then the words: Welcome to the Second Age. True to those words, the new map reveals Numenor, which sunk beneath the ocean near the end of the Second Age. This confirms one thing at least, that Amazon’s film right extend beyond what’s between the covers of ‘The Lord of the Rings,’ as the only map of Numenor in Tolkien’s works appears in ‘Unfinished Tales.’ Other than that, the possibilities for the direction(s) the story will take us are almost endless both with respect to Numenor, and what was happening in Middle-earth at the time. Less than a month after the debut of 56 second long ‘teaser’ trailer to “Tolkien,” Fox Searchlight Pictures released another, longer trailer today for the much anticipated movie. The new trailer starts with an introduction by Nicholas Hoult and Lily Collins. It runs 2 minutes, 23 seconds. In it, we see more details of the relationships in Tolkien’s early life with his future wife Edith Bratt, and the”fellowship” of friends who formed the Tea Club and Barrovian Society.
