Hobbit Fans Travel Across Country - Road to DragonCon 2013 - Discussing all things The Hobbit movie, The Lord of the Rings films and Tolkien.Our Adventurers are on the road! After leaving Meltdown Comics in Los Angeles yesterday, they’ve travelled through Barstow, Las Vegas and camped in Utah. After traveling through a Mines of Moria-esque tunnel, they are now at the Denny’s in Page, Arizona.

Justin, Doug and Ryan are fueling up to continue the adventure today – with plans to visit Monument Valley, Mexican Hat and other amazing locations. You can follow their progress along the way on our 24/7 LIVE Event page. [Route]

theonering_logo_2012-sm-color‘Tis pledge season here at TheOneRing.net!  You may have noticed the new ‘banner’ at the top of the homepage, letting you know about our fundraising drive.  Often at conventions, staffers get asked about how great it must be, being paid to attend conventions, organize line parties, go to film screenings, etc.  While those events are of course all fabulous, no one at TORn is ever paid a penny.  Everyone gives their time 100% volunteer, and in the past, whenever TORn has made any extra money, it’s been given away to charity.  We’re all about good times, good causes and good people. Road To DragonCon

It’s time once again to join our merry travelers LIVE for the 3rd Annual Road To DragonCon! More meet ups, more fans, more live streaming discussion as the crew drive across the country experiencing America through a Middle-earth lens. LAX to ATL and Back Again, Saturday August 24 – Thursday September 4. Over the next few days we will release details of the route, fan meet ups (or moots) and ways you can get involved!

#Road2DCon is new this year on many fronts. Along for the adventure with TORN Tuesday’s Justin is the team behind the Beardomancy101 podcast (iTunes): Ryan Moran and Doug Brochu! You may know Doug from the TV shows ‘Sonny With A Chance’ and ‘So Random,’ but we know him as a loyal Ringer whose TORN Tuesday appearance is the most-watched episode in the show’s two years.

Come dressed semi-formal or as your favourite fantasy character and enjoy the ambience of Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit inspired entertainment. The price includes a buffet meal (not drinks). Raffles, door prizes and costume prizes will be awarded on the night and an auction will be held.
