Our fellowship of travelers have made it Atlanta, GA and as you can see by the black screen on the feed, they are sleeping soundly, catching a few winks before the madness of DragonCon begins! We have a few exciting events taking place on our LIVE stream today. First, you can tune in LIVE as we present the latest news and information about The Hobbit Movies at our panel presentation. Like the one from Comic-Con, we will LIVE stream the entire panel, including any questions and audience participation. The panel begins at 1pm ET/10am PT and you can view it all in our TheOneRing.net LIVE section. [Here] The second scheduled event on our LIVE feed is the ever popular Evening at Bree! That will start at 8:30pm ET/5:30pm PT and feature our good friends Emerald Rose performing with lots of fun and frivolity! And of course, today is the anniversary of JRR Tolkien’s passing, so we’ll take some time to honor the Professor. We will most likely be streaming other events during the day, so we encourage you to stay tuned and participate in the LIVE stream area. [TheOneRing.net LIVE] [DragonCon.org]

We are premiering a brand new t-shirt this year at DragonCon 2011! It is a Dwarven family reunion shirt that features a certain infamous dragon at a certain famous mountain location. The design was created by longtime staffer Asfaloth and truly captures what a dwarf family reunion shirt would look like. TheOneRing.net logo is centered on the front and it comes in two colors – Sport Grey and Serene Green! And best yet – they are only $15 a pop! For those of you going to DragonCon, we’ll be selling these shirts at our fan table. For those of you not going, we are selling them online right now. They will ship once we get back from the road trip – so give us a week or so. We’ve also got TheOneRing.net window stickers to share your Tolkien passion with other drivers. Check out the shirts and the stickers through the following link. [Support our Road-trip with T-Shirts and Stickers]

Fans of great movies such as “Wilde” and “V for Vendetta” can never forget the remarkable performances of writer, actor, and host Stephen Fry. The tech-savvy thespian is also the UK’s most popular personality on TWITTER, commanding a stunning 3,000,000 followers — all of whom rely on Mr. Fry for his constant flow of erudite humor and humanist compassion. Ringer fans around the world and all of us at TheOneRing.net send *Happy Birthday* wishes across the miles to New Zealand, where no doubt PJ and Co. have celebrated Mr. Fry’s natal day with appropriate zeal! Chocolate Fish Cafe for dessert, anyone?

Read more about his character, the Master of Lake-town, and others from the upcoming HOBBIT films on our Characters page.

Quickbeam: Greetings Ringer fans! As promised on last week’s TORn TUESDAYS (where we played the cards live on air using picture-in-picture closeup) here we review the intriguing new Living Card Game set in Tolkien’s mythological world; fresh from the familiar folks of Fantasy Flight Games (ah, sweet alliteration). Joining me on the balcony tonight is long-time Green Books contributor Ostadan (“Lore and Letters”) who, like me, shares a passion for both gaming and JRRT. I am Quickbeam, host of TORn Tuesdays and co-creator of RINGERS. Shall we begin at the beginning?
