To wrap up the week that saw an unprecedented live fan event where fans gathered in theaters around the world with cast and crew, here is a list of things that stood out for TORn staff.
During the event, fans were treated to costume displays, live Q&As, a preview of the end credit music video, and most importantly, 20 minutes of nearly complete, previously unseen footage. Sophie Lapin from the webshow SF Go Pop recently sat down with Billy Boyd (who as we all know played Pippin in The Lord of the Rings) and quizzed him about his thoughts on The Hobbit, and what it felt being on the outside, looking-in after spending so many years of his life intimately involved in Middle-earth.
Marcella Clinard braided her long hair into an epic beard that any Gimli cosplayer would be proud of. She also took a pile of pictures and made her beardy adventure into a step-by-step tutorial for others, too.
“I’m a female middle-school English teacher. For Teen Read Week last week, I braided my long hair into an epic Gimli dwarf beard.
I made a tutorial showing how to do it! It would be a great Halloween costume for women with long hair who know how to braid!”
