TORnadoes ask about it often in person at events, via email, on Twitter and Facebook: “Will there be line party events and organizations for The Hobbit movies?” The answer is a resounding YES! There will be some changes around TORn, any minute now, or at least in just a few hours after this post. Part of the purpose is to make things as great as possible, to get the site ready for The Hobbit onslaught but also to accommodate local gatherings around the world. Movie tickets should go on sale around November 7 and we hope to help events organize in a grass-roots fashion around the globe. Stay tuned and spread the word! Consider theater destinations, consider organizations in your community like book stores, movie clubs, people who love lines and consider lending a hand to a world wide effort to see “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey,” with like-minded friends. Thanks for your energy and enthusiasm and get ready!

Details coming soon….!!!

Update: as  hinted in the circle in the top right of the pictured magazine, The One Ring.net has partnered with Topix Media Lab to produce a  beautiful collector’s edition magazine about The Hobbit. Side-bars and feature articles, contributed by TORn staff, include interviews, character and actor profiles, a comparison of the book vs. the movie, articles on games and collectibles, a wonderful Middle-earth timeline and much, much more. The magazine is also packed with colorful pictures of cast and crew members, locations, collectibles, gorgeous fan art and a few exclusives! One thing that makes this truly a collector’s edition is that there are only two ads in the entire magazine. The magazine hit shelves in the last 24 hours in stores such as Barnes & Noble and Wal-Mart, but be sure and also look anywhere magazines are sold.  It is currently only available in the U.S., so be especially nice to your U.S. friends and maybe they’ll find one or two and send them along.

We at TheOneRing would like to thank all of you who come visit us an who have helped make our journey together the best fan experience ever. Following is our tribute to you from inside the magazine: “J.R.R. Tolkien wrote some of the most inspiring novels of all time. “The Lord of the Rings” trilogy and “The Hobbit” have inspired television specials, movies, musicals, and now, this magazine. But this isn’t a book about The Hobbit (though there’s plenty of coverage of Peter Jackson’s upcoming films). This is about you, the fans. TheOneRing.net has covered all things Tolkien for more than ten years, and was forged for fans, by fans. This tribute magazine is created in that spirit.

LEGO® Fans worldwide are being treated to a series of early images of the upcoming ‘The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey‘ LEGO® Playsets. (We are deliberately not including imagery on this post because we are pretty sure they will be asked to remove in hours!) There are a variety of sources for images, but the best come from LEGO Toy Story News’s Flickr Stream. Be warned, one set in particular reveals a previously unannounced ‘change’ to the story. We will describe the sets and a brief attempt to decipher each, but we’d love to hear your own conclusions and theories in our comments. There is also a video available of a very excited LEGO fan quickly going over all of the sets. A small heads up for the video – if you are looking for a clear description and accounting of each set – this isn’t for you. He does seem very excited about mushrooms though! [Flickr Stream] [Video]- MAJOR SPOILERS! (Thanks to Mr. Spielbrick for the heads up!)
