So as we told you during the winter warm-up our friends at Weta Workshop updated us on the amazing looking Witch-king and Frodo piece we saw at Comic-Con during 2018. Now we get to start your week with even more good news regarding this piece. We now have a video update on the process this statue has gone through as Weta prepares to put it up for pre-order. As many of you know Comic-Con in San Diego was cancelled this year due to the Covid-19. So our friends at Weta Workshop have decided to take Comic-Con and do it virtually. They’re calling it Winter Warm Up, because it is winter in their part of the world. The first two days have brought us three new collectibles from Middle-earth. The first one is from The Lord of the Rings, and a piece we saw sculpted live, two years ago during San Diego Comic-Con. Sculptor Jane Wenley is bringing to life that iconic moment where we see The Witch-king stab Frodo on Weathertop. When this piece goes live we will bring your more information but for now we hope you enjoy this concept sketch.

Week Three of our friends at Weta Workshop’s No. 1 auctions has started. This week fans can add the number one piece in the edition of the following statues: The Mouth of Sauron, Black Arrow prop replica, Thranduil on Elk, Prancing Pony (This is actually No 2 in the series as none were actually in the No 1 box) , and Galadriel. As we stated last week, the funds raised from the number one statues auctions will go to the Neonatal Trust. This week’s statue will be the Galadriel. If you’re ready for another race, welcome to “Racing to Rivendell” where we are following Frodo, Sam, Merry, Pippin, Aragorn, Arwen/Glorfindel, and Asfaloth (the horse who carried Frodo) as they race to outrun the Black Riders from Weathertop to Rivendell.
(If you weren’t able to join us last week, you can still earn your Shire Sprint bib and certificate. Just check out the post from May 1 for instructions.)
This virtual 5k race (3.1 miles) can be run or walked at home or any location you choose (please follow your town’s current rules). You can run, jog, walk, use a treadmill, climb your stairs, or us an elliptical – whatever is most convenient and safe for you. 30 minutes of exercise can also count as 1 mile. Run your own race, at your own pace, and time it yourself – our 5k’s are on the honor system.
Before you start each race, download a RACE BIB here or from TORn’s “The World and Works of J.R.R. Tolkien” Facebook page. Write your name, nickname, or race time in the white box, then you can stop by our Facebook page and post a photo wearing your bib, or post in the comments below.
Once you have completed each race, let us know! Download your finisher certificate and share another photo.

It’s been a long time since fans of The Lord of the Rings could buy brand new actions figures of the greatest trilogy of all-time. At Toy Fair this year the awesome folks at Diamond Select Toys showed off they will be doing a line of figures based on The Lord of the Rings. There will be two series to start when pre-orders launch next month with each figure having a price of $30. Series 1 will launch with Gimli and Legolas while series 2 consists of Aragorn as well as a Nazgul. If you want the Sauron figure in the pictures you will need to buy those four figures as Sauron is a build-a-figure. The Frodo figure will come with random parts for Sauron, and the Orc will come with various Orc parts. So be ready next month to get your orders in and add to your Middle-earth collection.
