Collecting The Precious – Weta Workshop’s Boromir at Amon Hen Statue Review

This was one of the surprise pieces at Comic-Con last year and I will say it was one heck of a surprise. A brand new Boromir statue capturing his last moments in battle trying to save Merry and Pippin is quite a powerful piece. I think many will agree this is Boromir’s most heroic moment. Not only does this piece have power and beauty, it is simply fantastic in terms of paint as well as detail. Fans who were at Comic-Con know that this statue doesn’t come alone; it’s meant to be paired with a Lurtz statue (he will be reviewed shortly). Both pieces come with a price tag of $299 and an edition size of 1000 pieces.

Collecting The Precious – Weta Workshop’s Faramir Statue Review

IMG_4255He made his debut at Comic-Con last year and after a decade wait to get him into our collections Faramir has arrived. This amazing statue is a spitting image of what we saw on screen during The Lord of the Rings Trilogy. Faramir is one of my favorite The Lord of the Rings pieces and you can get him right now for $249 as he is in-stock with an edition size of just 1000 pieces world-wide.

Collecting The Precious – Weta Workshop’s Faramir Statue

LOTRFaramir2Yesterday our friends at Weta Workshop had a nice surprise for us. The second statue in the relaunched The Lord of the Rings statue line is now available for order.

As you may recall from Comic-Con last year, The Balrog -Demon of Shadow and Flame, as well as Faramir, were on display.

Faramir, a character so many of us have been waiting for, can now be yours to order for $249 at an edition size of only 1000 pieces worldwide.

If you hate waiting like me, then you’ll love that this is also in-stock and ready to ship now!

The likeness and detail on this statue are some of Weta’s best work. Having a chance to add Faramir to your collections will be one you won’t want to miss.

Collecting The Precious – Weta Workshop Comic-Con 2014 Booth Tour Part 2

IMG_0448As you saw in part one of our booth tour our friends at Weta Workshop had a lot of fantastic pieces at Comic-Con 2014. Collecting The Precious Weta Workshop Comic-Con Photo Tour Part 1

IMG_0664 Our friends at Weta Workshop have some really fantastic stuff this year at Comic-Con from both The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit. As they announced last year at Comic-Con, The Lord of the Rings 1:6 statue line is back in the hands of Weta and this year we get two fantastic pieces to start that off. The first piece is the Balrog, in a huge scale standing at 21″ tall with a huge footprint because of the base. The other statue is Faramir – who, finally, after eight years since the end of the original The Lord of the Rings 1:6 statue line, gets to come home to us. We also get, for fans of the mini-statue line, a brand new Ringwraith mini-statue, which at the show was only $80.

Collecting The Precious – Weta Workshop Announces First Statue in The Lord of the Rings 1:6th Line

FaramirDuring Comic-Con this year you heard me mention a couple of times that Weta Workshop would be coming back to do 1:6th statues for The Lord of the Rings. Tim Launder General Manager of Weta Limited last night via The Shadow and Flame Forum announced who had been selected as the first character in the line. This character was one of the characters not done in statue form during original The Lord of the Rings statue line so fans are going to be pleased with this announcement. After years of waiting fans are finally going to be able to add a Faramir statue to their collections. Now, the question becomes will we see the Ranger Faramir or Faramir in his Gondorian Armor? As details come along from Weta we will let you know and maybe before the end of the year we might even get a good look at what is sure to be an awesome statue.
