‘Hobbit Romance.’ Yup! We knew it was going to show up somewhere.
Before we get to the spoiler fun, Total Film has named six ‘Hobbit‘ actors as part of their Summer 2012 Future 100: Aidan Turner (Kili), Evangeline Lilly (Tauriel), Martin Freeman (Bilbo), Richard Armitage (Thorin), Luke Evans (Bard) and Benedict Cumberbatch (Smaug/Necromancer).
We’ve attached a scan from the magazine for your viewing pleasure. (Courtesy of richardarmitagenet.com)
So now for the spoiler…highlight the text to read the details: (or if for some reason you can see text below, stop reading!)
“Kili’s part has been expanded from the novel; as well as chasing treasure, he’s also pursuing female elf Tauriel. But is he setting his sights too high? ‘I guess he knows nothing can ever happen,’ he explains. ‘She’s about 20ft tall and he’s only two!'”
So there you have it – at least one hint at how romance may play a part in The Hobbit! [TotalFilm]

All the details are still being hammered out, but TheOneRing.net is working furiously to plan a trip for fellow fans to travel with us to New Zealand and attend the red carpet event in Wellington for the world premiere of “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey,” on November 28.
Since the date was announced, TORn has been in contact with groups in New Zealand trying to arrange the best possible trip with finances, time away and itinerary as considerations. Highlights of the trip include:
* A visit to Hobbiton Movie Set near Matamata
* Lining the ‘Red Carpet’ for a world-class Wellington premiere party
* A visit to the Weta Cave
* A TORn & Red Carpet Tours costume party
* Other Wellington movie-related experiences, time permitting
Speaking of Red Carpet Tours, fans also have the option of joining a longer Hobbit tour with the trusted tour group long associated with TORn. You can read the itinerary here for the 14-day extravaganza.
TORn expects to finalize details and require a deposit in the neighborhood of $300 for the late-November event. Funds will be used to secure hotel rooms and make other binding travel arrangements. It is expected that the final price will include round-trip air from Los Angeles to New Zealand. Details will be announced as soon as possible but expect to leave just after U.S. Thanksgiving and return about a week later.
UPDATE: Yes, there will be land-only prices available.
Stay tuned for details but make arrangements now for this one-in-a-lifetime event!

Wellington will roll out its really, really long red carpet and throw a world-class party for “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey,” on November 28. The date of the event has been guessed about for months but today it was confirmed in New Zealand.
The Embassy Theatre has long been the expected spot of the premiere and today’s story confirms it, giving the beautiful site another world-class event to go along with its 2003 hosting of “The Return of the King.” (You can check out TORn’s scrapbook of that event right here.)
Middle-earth royalty, many from the film, would be likely to attend and walk down Wellington’s Courtenay Place which serves as a weekend hot-spot in Wellington that typically stays open until the sun rises.
“I know I speak for a company of hobbits, dwarves, elves and orcs when I say that this city holds a special place in all our hearts,” director Peter Jackson said of the event at www.stuff.co.nz.
“We cannot think of a more perfect way to send ‘The Hobbit’ off into the world than to celebrate with a huge party here in Wellington, where the journey began.”
TheOneRing.net, long friends with Red Carpet Tours, is supporting their longer tour of Middle-earth, one we definitely recommend, but also hope to put together a shorter trip focused on the premiere. You can read Red Carpet’s full itinerary and sign up while details for a micro-trip will be announced ASAP. In addition, both groups will host a joint party in Wellington at a hotel in central Wellington
The two films based on J.R.R. Tolkien’s “The Hobbit,” is currently filming and is expected to finish principal photography later this month with pickups for the first film scheduled for later. TheOneRing.net spent a five-week stint embedded on set for the films with content coming later, as agreed before the embed began. We also fully expect to cover the premiere, and everything else ‘Hobbit’ related, as possible.

In preparation for a product review, I found myself last night eagerly unboxing one of two upcoming The Lord of the Rings LEGO® Sets. I was pleasantly surprised to find this mini-teaser in the back of the instruction pack for the ‘Shelob Attacks’ Set and thought I should share it quickly…so I posted it on our official TheOneRing.net Facebook. Well, it has gotten quite a stir over there, so I figured I should share it with you this morning. The ad confirms the long assumed notion that we would see a The Lord of the Rings LEGO® Video Game from long-time LEGO game producers Traveler’s Tales. So let this been 100% confirmation of the games existence, and I’d be willing to bet we’ll see a The Hobbit game in the future as well. As for my quickie review of the ‘Shelob Attacks’ LEGO Set: Building a gigantic realistic LEGO spider, complete with shooting string and eight extremely posable legs, was one of the most fun activities I’ve had in years! (Full review with pics will be coming soon!)
