Looks like gaming is back on the menu! Warhorse Games announces a new LOTR game built upon the engine and experience of the award-winning Kingdom Come: Deliverance II.
In a tweet, Warhorse describes it as an open world RPG set in Middle-earth and adds “We’re excited to tell you more when the time is right.” Warhorse is owned by Embracer Group.
Introducing Fellowship a publicly traded company
In business news, Embracer Group has announced it’s splitting the company into a new publicly traded entity. Fellowship Entertainment will be traded on NASDAQ Sweden and house several companies that own & develop popular franchises.
In a press release, Embracer says “Fellowship will be one business segment with one strategy and business plan. The main rationale to spin-off Fellowship is to increase management focus to capture the full joint potential of the IPs, their respective communities and some of the best game developers in the world.”
AAA level experiences
The announcement says a goal is to deliver at least 2 high quality AAA products every year starting next year 2027. While we are unsure if this is in-house stuff from the Embracer family of board and video games, already there are two big releases in the works for 2027: Amazon’s huge TOMB RAIDER show, and Andy Serkis’ THE HUNT FOR GOLLUM feature film.

At the start of August, we told you about NZ Post’s beautiful stamps which were being issued to celebrate 20 years since the release of Peter Jackson’s The Fellowship of the Ring movie. We are initiating this event to replace our Evening in Middle-earth which is our major annual fundraiser for Kids in Care, supporting “The Pyjama Foundation”.
Due to Covid, for the last two years we have had to cancel our event, but this year we are running it virtually, online via Zoom and are delighted that we will be joined by John Callen and Sarah McLeod.
Our event, “Evening in Middle-earth”, first began in 2013 and in that time our small club has raised over $12 000 for our nominated charity and donated many children’s books also.
We hope you can join this special online event and enjoy a conversation with our guests.
The Zoom will run for one hour but can be extended to an hour and a half if required.
Our friends at Weta Workshop revealed the new Cave Troll collectible at their Weta Workshop’s Comic-Con at home. It’s the next superb piece in their premium statue series, and it goes live for pre-orders on Wednesday, September 30th.
While this new sub-line of statues is new to Weta’s line of collectibles, at only 500 pieces, this statue won’t be lasting long.
