In June of this year the folks at Weta Workshop answered a long-standing request from the fans of Middle-earth with the release of Set One of The Fellowship of the Ring three-part set. Well, on the heels of the debut of Set One (review of said set coming soon), Weta has announced Set Two.
As you know the first set contained Gandalf, Frodo, and Legolas all of whom look really fantastic. Set Two gives fans four more characters on our way to completing the Fellowship with Boromir, Gimli, Merry, and Pippin. Like Set One this set will cost $200 and will not be shipping until quarter two of next year. Start saving now!
Via Fairfax NZ News: Golden Bay tourism operator Reg Turner is refusing to stop using The Hobbit to promote his Song of the Tui lodge in the Aorere Valley, despite warnings by Tourism New Zealand. Turner’s website says his lodge overlooks “stunning mountain scenery, as seen in the films The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit”.
He said he wanted to include something similar in a tourist map produced by the Golden Bay Promotion Association, but the non-profit organisation said he could not reference The Hobbit without approval.

Boyd, Rick Martin and Billy Johnston – the trio who make up the Scottish rock band – have agreed to fly over from Glasgow to join us in Hollywood for a night of revelry. We are delighted that they are able to take time out of their busy schedules to party with us! The band may have a couple of other gigs on the West Coast whilst they are over; we’ll be sure to keep you informed of any further dates they play.
