According to the UK’s Mirror, Aidan Turner was talking to a fan who had her handbag stolen during the conversation. And then he took action.
“He quickly managed to catch up with the thief, pulling him off his bike and grabbing the handbag.”
The article explains that Turner isn’t actually as short as his character (seriously) and after the event he said,
“It’s great to be a real hero for a change rather than just an on-screen one. I think the rescue though was more like something from Indiana Jones than the Hobbit.”

It only makes sense, with the last of Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit Trilogy coming out this December, to have some kind of presence from Middle-earth at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. You will get that and more to keep you happy, if you are a fan of Middle-earth!
