The Motion Picture Sound Editors Guild announced its nominations for its 2013 Golden Reel awards with “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey” nominated in these three categories:
– Best Sound Editing: Sound Effects and Foley in a Feature Film.
– Best Sound Editing: Dialogue and ADR in a Feature Film
– Best Sound Editing: Music in a Feature Film
Several films are competing against TH:AUJ in these categories, including “Argo” “Life of Pi” “Lincoln” and “Skyfall”.

The Costume Designers Guild have announced this years nominees for its annual costume design 
awards with Ann Maskrey, Richard Taylor and Bob Buck being nominated for “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey” in the excellence in fantasy film category.
Also nominated in the same category and vying for the award is Kym Barrett and Pierre-Yves Gayraud for “Cloud Atlas,” Eiko Ishioka for “Mirror Mirror” and Colleen Atwood for “Snow White and the Huntsman.”

For those of you coming to Hollywood for this party, especially those of you from outside the Southern California area, you already know you need a hotel. But I’d like to make sure all you locals are able to take advantage of these great deals we have with these hotels. After all, with the closure of all the streets surrounding the newly dubbed Dolby Theater at the Hollywood and Highland Complex, you won’t have to worry about being late to the party when you are staying at one of the neighboring hotels.
