Preview night at San Diego Comic Con is just that, a 3 hour preview of the show, with the Exhibitor’s hall open, and several sneak peeks of upcoming network Pilot shows for the Fall Season of new television. There are no panels or major presentations going on, just the room screening the pilots (no guests) and the gigantic exhibit hall. Here you see an image of the side approach to the WETA booth from a bit of a distance, just look for Gandalf watching over everyone. Continue reading “SDCC Wednesday Preview night Recap”

Comic-Con is the focus of fandom for the next five days, and for those of us who cannot attend, we are going to be heavily leaning on our 100% volunteer staff at the show. To load even higher expectations on their shoulders, we’ve put together a LIVE coverage page featuring tweets, images, fb posts and of course a LIVE stream all with the hope they can update frequently. The page will auto update as new details come in, so just load up the subsite and sit back and relax. And if you want to communicate with our staff, use the hashtags #smaugcon #tornlive #sdcc @theonering.net. Enjoy the coverage and if you appreciate it, please take a moment to support our site with a donation or snagging something from our shop! [LIVE Coverage]

A brief version of the conversation appeared on radio but the extended cut can now be found right here. It also features Chris Ryall, creative officer at IDW publishing, a big presence at the convention. Have a listen to what can be titled for the CCon, the Extended Exclusive Edition!

As you are already well aware, the staff of TheOneRing.net are descending on Comic-Con 2013 as one of the sole representatives of Tolkien fandom at this year’s show. We’ve talked a bit about our panel (Thur 5:30 Room 6A) and mentioned our LIVE coverage , but we haven’t really shared all of the amazing offerings we’ll have showcasing at our two, yes two, booth locations! (WETA #3513B and Badali Jewelry #532 ) Whether its a Tauriel/Rosie the Riveter mash-up, or The Superman logo Hobbitized, we’ve got something for every Tolkien fan attending the show. Details after the break! (And not to worry for folks who will not be going, we are planning on offering most of these items in our online shop!)
