Here at the TORn chat we’ve just had our own movie marathon, but now you can do it all over again — well, the ROTK EE at least!
The Lord of the Rings: War in the North development team are having a viewing of the ROTK EE today starting at 2pm PDT and running until 6pm EDT — and they’ll be doing it live with us from our TORn chat. If, like the Snowblind Studios team, you’re just looking for an excuse to watch The Lord of the Rings, then come and join us! (HINT: that’s about 10 minutes from now!)
Chat with the game developers, participate in trivia, and win prizes! Can’t make it right at 2pm? Be fashionably late, jump and in whenever! We’ll be giving regular updates letting you know where we are in the movie.
*Please note that — as with our movie marathon — we will not be streaming the film, but we encourage all fans to watch it locally (on your own tv, or computer) while we chat.*
We’re done! Thanks to everyone who joined and made it such a great success!

-“I try to act as him as if it all is a small drama; especially given the suit I’m going to wear.” Persbrandt replied on the question on how he’s going to act as Beorn, and he also apparently laughed after saying the thing about the suit. (more…)
Dozens of small-statured folk are ready to dance their way onto the Shire next month, but even Matamata accommodation providers are in the dark as to exactly when the big influx of little extras will hit the region.
Publicist for 3 Foot 7 Ceris Price said 90 people were selected late last year from the 1200-odd who applied to be Matamata-based hobbit extras in The Hobbit, but because people turned up “from all over” for the auditions, she did not know how many were from Waikato. But like everyone else involved in the making of Peter Jackson’s latest film, if there was hobbits grooming their toe-hairs in the Waikato, they were doing it with their lips firmly sealed. Ian Brodie, media and communications manager for Hobbiton Movie Set and Farm Tours, said confidentiality contracts meant anyone involved in The Hobbit in any capacity was bound to silence. More..
