For those paying attention Linuxelf has been building up quite a library on YouTube, all well worth attention. But one of the three newest ones is pretty near and dear to TheOneRing.net. Maybe some have seen this footage but certainly many of us have not.

There is also a haka for LOTR cast and crew
here, and a report on Oscar buzz for “Fellowship of the Ring,” here. Thanks LE!

In the age old battle of which ‘trilogy’ is better, we all know the correct answer is The Lord of the Rings. Of course, there is no comparison. Lucas destroyed his original invention with poorly executed re-editing, bad cg and….sorry, started getting off track there. (*cough* Let’s look at the Academy Award wins too folks…) But Anyway…. Ringer Elf Wannabee has posted a link to a video at Parallel Universe that attempts to solve the situation, once and for all, in a battle to the death. I won’t spoil it for you, but the video sucks. 😛 [View Video] [Discuss in our Forum] And if were not already aware, we have a whole forum devoted to these types of ‘battles.’ It’s called ‘The Arena‘ and is just waiting for you to chime in.

Any Latin experts out there? Ringer Mike is embarking on a unofficial project to translate The Lord of the Rings into Latin! It goes without saying that this is quite a project, and Mike could use your help with feedback and suggestions. Read more about the project in our forum and encourage Mike as he embarks on his own Frodo like journey! [Read More]

With all the discussion about Hobbit casting recently, we thought we’d (finally) update our poll and find out who you would like to be cast as in the upcoming ‘Hobbit’ films. Are you squat and solid like a dwarf? Tall and thin like an Elf? Somewhere in the middle? Vote today and then talk about what character you’d be best cast as on the message boards. You can even upload pictures to prove your point!
