With Peter Jackson’s release of the second production video from The Hobbit on Facebook, we found ourselves with a lot of new visuals from the upcoming films. Among the highlights are Hugo Weaving as Elrond, a peek at Legolas’s costuming, Goblin-town and more! We are taking a look at each picture individually and have offered our comments and suggestions.  Like you, we are purely speculating! Each pic has a number associated with it, and you can click on it for the super high res version. We’d love to hear your thoughts and opinions – just comment on this post, on Facebook and in our Forums! The wait is over! A second production video was just posted on Peter Jackson’s Facebook page. This one provides lots of goodies including Andy Serkis in his mo-cap suit as Gollum as well as glimpses of Bilbo, Elrond, some mysterious indoor sets and more of the gorgeous New Zealand countryside. Can you guess where the various shots and locations will show up in the movies? Let us know in your comments below, in Barliman’s chat or on our message boards.  To view the video, go here.

New Line and Warner Bros. have minutes ago released a stunning production picture of Mark Hadlow as Dori, Jed Brophy as Nori, and Adam Brown as Ori in The Hobbit.

The picture is accompanied by a rather humourous description of the Dwarves:

These three brothers, all sons of the same mother, could not be more different from each other.

Dori, the oldest, spends much of his time watching out for Ori, the youngest; making sure he’s not caught a chill or got himself killed by Wargs or Goblins.

Nobody quite knows what Nori gets up to most of the time, except that it’s guaranteed to be dodgy and quite probably, illegal.

Dori, Nori and Ori are intensely loyal to each other – and whilst they are perfectly happy fighting amongst themselves, woe-betide anyone who means harm to one of these brothers.

Is it any surprise our message boards are on fire?

NYMag.com has a new interview up with Elijah Wood who’ll be reprising his role as Frodo in The Hobbit, and perhaps the most interesting bit is his response to the question about when he’ll be going down to New Zealand to shoot his scenes.

Here’s what Elijah said:

October. I’m going to the U.K. first to do some shooting, but then I’m going down in October for the New Zealand part.

Not to jump to any conclusions, but does this potentially mean Sir Christopher Lee will be shooting his scenes in the UK this October? Discuss over at our message boards. The entire interview can be found over at NYMag.com.

Thanks to Ringer spy Patrick for the heads-up.

Owen from ClassicFM.com (who needs a spy name, suggest something below) sends this along: I thought I’d send you a quick note to say we (at Classic FM) have just begun our vote for the greatest movie soundtrack. Howard Shore’s LOTR score won last year, and wondered if you wanted to let your readers know they can vote for him again if they want? Vote
