Look3D, the company who last year brought you the ‘dwarven’ styled special 3D glasses for The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, have just announced their new design for The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug; and they’ve allowed TheOneRing.net exclusively to reveal this fabulous item! Along with Warner Bros. and RealD, Look3D have created ‘Thorin Oakenshield’ inspired 3D Glasses, specifically for the new film. The beautiful design features a Dwarven sword in gold and silver along the arm of the glasses, with the movie logo embossed on it. They are packed in a cloth bag which also features the movie logo.
The glasses will be available in selected cinemas worldwide and also on Look3d.com. They will also be available in retail through Best Buy in the US; and possibly in some giveaways from your friends here at TORn! Get ready to watch The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug in style!

Middle-earth’s Diner is back! Denny’s new Hobbit menu is available in their restaurants from today. Judging by all the preparation and hard work Denny’s have been putting in over the past months, and to which we at TheOneRing.net have been privy, this should be a fun and tempting menu! In their official press release, Denny’s say:
“The quest for Middle-earth inspired adventure begins today at Denny’s, as America’s Diner celebrates the long-awaited release of The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, a production of New Line Cinema and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures (MGM). A bold new menu features seven authentic dishes inspired by The Hobbit films, and a bounty of exclusive movie content available only in-restaurant …

As we shared with you the other day, our friends at The Noble Collection have some really great stuff coming that will be tied in with The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. On top of the four Thranduil related items that we wrote about before, there are another ten more items, for a total of fourteen awesome looking collectibles. These items range from the rings featured in our previous post, to some pretty sweet sculpted bookmarks of Bilbo/Gollum from Riddles in the Dark. If you’re a fan of the mini-sword letter openers then you get three more of these with these being Thranduil’s Sword, Tauriel’s Dagger, and the Morgul Blade. These are just examples of the items you can get from The Noble Collection and have in your collection from December 6th.

Artwork for both the Standard and Special Edition of Howard Shore’s soundtrack for The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug has been out for a few days now. If you haven’t already caught it, have a look below!
Doug Adams on his website/blog has labelled the two “Burgundy” and “Dragon”, or if he’s just being descriptive. Not sure whether that means anything in particular. I do rather like the Cyan colour of the Special Edition, though.

Empire Magazine is debuting a special The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug edition this week, and (similar to last year), their talented artists have created four different limited-edition Hobbit covers.
Your choices are Thorin Oakenshield (Richard Armitage) in Mirkwood, Gandalf the Grey in the dark domain of Dol Guldur and Bilbo clutching Sting as he treads through Smaug’s lair in Erebor. Last but not least is Luke Evans’ Bard the Bowman, a debutant in the second part of Peter Jackson’s trilogy, seen here defending Lake-town from fiery menace.
