Ringer Spy Dana writes: Just wanted to give out the information that the 2 Hartford Symphony Orchestra LOTR concerts 9/18/04 @ 8 pm and 9/19/04 @ 3 pm are NOT being conducted by Howard Shore per HSO’s audience development/PR Manager Johannes Neur, who wrote: Howard Shore asked his good friend and conducting colleague Alastair Willis, resident conductor at the Seattle Symphony, to conduct the Hartford performance because Mr. Shore is heavily involved in writing a new score for a Martin Scorsese movie.

We reported on Friday that Sideshow/Weta’s Mouth of Sauron bust and Sauron Helm were about to sell out. Over the weekend, the Helm dropped off of Sideshow’s website. Ringer Spy Tigerlilly Gamgee writes: The Lord of the Rings Symphony is going to be performed in Detroit by the Detroit Symphony Orchestra on Saturday, October 16th in the fabulous Fox Theatre. Tickets are on sale now, and more information can be found at here. Tigerlilly says: “I really think that people should give this show a chance. Most people don’t think of the arts when the think of Detroit… but Detroit has great arts hidden throughout the city. … The Fox Theatre has to be one of the most beautiful theatres in the country. So, don’t be afraid to venture into downtown Detroit. It’s not that bad!”
