IMG_6490As you may recall we teamed up with Sideshow Collectibles to give away one of their massive Sauron Premium Format Statues. After many entries its time to finally announce the winner of this contest. The lucky Ringer who will be having one of these 3 foot tall pieces shipped from our friends at Sideshow Collectibles is Ben S. of Gurnee, IL. We want to thank all of you who took the time to enter and be on the watch for the next contest. You can still get Sauron from Sideshow Collectibles and if you’re unsure check out our review of one of the best The Lord of the Rings collectibles you’ll ever find.

legolasWe’ve started to see more products for The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. So we wanted to remind folks of a great looking art print from our friend artist Jerry Vanderstelt who created a stunning looking art print of Legolas Greenleaf as we will see him in film two this December. You can get this amazing print from Jerry right now for a steal of a deal at just $78 for a 18×24 print. The other superb print we want to remind you of is Jerry’s Sauron art print. This print captures Sauron as he walks through Mordor viewing his realm and was recently turned into a statue from Sideshow Collectibles. You can also get this print for $78 and then compare it to the statue in our review.

Visit the Dragon's Horde!Every fall, Los Angeles Ringers hold a fabulous Hall of Fire party that features all the things Hobbits, Elves, and Dwarves love most: food, drink, and fabulous costumes. The yard of a private residence in Glendora is transformed for the evening with pavilions representing the Shire, Rohan, and other regions of Middle-earth. You can visit Smaug’s Horde and Gollum’s pool, then relax with a drink at the Flaming Mumak Tavern.

Hosted by Tolkien Forever, the local smial of the Tolkien Society, “costumes are highly encouraged (though not required), and just like the Hall Of Fire from the book, people often bring games to play; sing and play music; and share the art and inspiration that Tolkien has given them.”

If you are in the Los Angeles area, join us this Saturday, October 19, at 6:00pm. Visit the event’s Facebook page and read the event details to RSVP and be sent the party address. The party is open to all, but it is being held at a private home, so you must email the host to receive directions. All ages are welcome, but please be responsible for your children. This a big backyard with a pool in the middle of it. Some parts of the yard are dimly lit. so please be aware of your surroundings. All party attendees must respect the wishes of the home owners at all times.

Japanese premiere of The Hobbit: Anm Unexpected JourneyA little bird tells us that the world premiere of Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug will be in Los Angeles on Monday 2nd December.  We’d like to invite YOU to join TheOneRing.net to celebrate this event, with a party the night before.  Mark your calendars –  details will follow, but for now, plan on partying with fellow fans in LA on Sunday 1st December; and then get ready to line the red carpet the next day!

This event won’t be as big as our Oscar parties, but it will be a wonderful time to celebrate the second movie, hang out with friends, and maybe even meet some special guests…  Watch this space for more information, and a definite confirmation of date and venue.  Hope to see you in Los Angeles on December 1st!

Hobbit_RADAGAST_6_TheBridgeDirectWe’ve recently gotten info via our spymaster email that leads us to believe that starting today fans should be able to find wave 2 of The Bridge Direct’s Hobbit Line of figures. Just some of the figures you will see in wave 2 are Thranduil, Azog, Radagast, and the rest of the Traveling Company. Also, it appears from the spy report that the price of the figures will be the same that we saw in wave one. As of now we await official confirmation but as soon as we get that information we will pass it on to you all.
