Richard Armitage has spoken exclusively to Total Film about his role in Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit and he makes some interesting comments!

We recently sat down with the British actor to talk about his role as dwarf Thorin Oakenshield in the two-part Tolkien epic, and he told us: “There’s going to be quite a lot more humour.

“The book is so focused on the dwarves, so I think it’s a chance for Peter [Jackson] and Fran [Walsh] to really look at that whole race in more detail, their heritage and what they’re like as characters.”

From the NZPA: The Council of Trade Unions will seek legal advice on challenging an Ombudsman’s rejection of its bid to get a copy of the Crown Law opinion on last year’s industrial dispute over the filming of The Hobbit. In a final decision, Ombudsman David McGee rejected appeals from the CTU and Radio New Zealand and said the legal opinion should remain secret, Radio New Zealand reported. Last year, the Government said the Crown Law opinion confirmed that by law, film producers could not enter into union-negotiated agreements with actors who were independent contractors.
