Quackingtroll from our own message boards sends along some of what Peter Jackson has been up to by sharing a link to the “Adventures of TinTin” trailer. Written by the master cartoonist Hergé, Tintin is a swashbucking boy who along with his dog and a colorful cast of characters, have many adventures world wide. Jackson has a producer credit and worked with director Steven Spielberg to bring the cartoon character to life. On a personal note, with a love of the source material, I am pretty thrilled by the trailer which captures the look and feel of the reading experience with a high degree of fidelity. Enjoy by following this link.

Ataahua sends this in: Get out your chainsaws! PJ’s first feature film, the 1987 comedy-splatter flick Bad Taste, is being remastered and will be re-released in cinemas next year. This is the film that Peter co-wrote, directed, produced, starred in, and also did the makeup and cinematography for. More..

Julie Matlin from the NFB sends this in: This short film demonstrates how Howard Shore has distinguished himself as one of Canada’s most accomplished – and versatile – composers. During woodland rambles with his beloved dogs, Shore gives free rein to his ceaseless creativity. Whether composing delicate counterpoint or Oscar®-winning movie music, Shore is keenly tuned to a remarkable range of musical expression.

Produced by the National Film Board of Canada in co-operation with the National Arts Centre and the Governor General’s Performing Arts Awards Foundation on the occasion of the 2011 Governor General’s Performing Arts Awards. Link
