Yesterday our friends at Weta Workshop had a nice surprise for us. The second statue in the relaunched The Lord of the Rings statue line is now available for order.
As you may recall from Comic-Con last year, The Balrog -Demon of Shadow and Flame, as well as Faramir, were on display.
Faramir, a character so many of us have been waiting for, can now be yours to order for $249 at an edition size of only 1000 pieces worldwide.

The likeness and detail on this statue are some of Weta’s best work. Having a chance to add Faramir to your collections will be one you won’t want to miss.

What once was the staff of Radagast the Brown goes on to be used by Gandalf in the final Hobbit movie as well as The Fellowship of the Ring. We’ve come to the end of road for new releases of Middle-earth based movies, and I find myself happy to see the movie while also being sad that it’s the end. We of course do have the Extended Edition that will come out next year so we have that to look forward to. I’ve had a chance to see this twice already and I’ve walked away loving it each time. I’m going to copy the format my fellow staffer Garfeimao used to give my thoughts on various moments.

Today is the day! As we promised you last week, the Smaug the Terrible statue by our friends at Weta Workshop has gone up for order. This was a show stealing piece last year at Comic-Con, and I know many fans including myself have been waiting to get a chance to order this piece. Smaug went up today at 11am PST with a special pre-order price of $699, which is good through January 25th of next year; after that date the price will go up to $749. Another note about the pre-order: when fans place their orders there will be a $100 NRD (Non-Refundable Deposit) at the time of order. Smaug has an edition size of 2000 pieces world-wide, and as per the sign at Comic-Con is due to ship in quarter one of next year. Do not hesitate to order this piece and add what will be a grail into your collection!

New York Comic-Con starts tomorrow and we’ve teamed up with our friends at Weta Workshop to do a pretty awesome giveaway. The prize for this give away is Weta’s amazing The Art of Film Magic – 20 Years of Weta!
