Michelf writes: On Monday night, Guillermo del Toro was on Craig Ferguson’s late night talk show to promote his vampire book, “The Strain.”
Shortly after sitting down, GDT remarked on Ferguson’s coffee cup, shaped like a coiled snake. Craig said that since GDT was working on “The Hobbit”, maybe he should put a big snake in with all the other creatures. GDT said, “Well, there IS a “worm”. Craig said, “Oh, yeah, Smaug the Dragon”, and held the cup in front of his face, pretending to talk like Smaug–“Bilbo Baggins, You’d better be careful…!” GDT asked if he could borrow the cup for about three years. Ubisoft, who helped make the Peter Jackson’s “King Kong,” video game are working with Jackson and friend and co-director Steven Spielberg. The game studio announced today at the E3 video game conference that it would be producing and releasing a game version of the two directors’ movie, “Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn.”
Said Paramount Digital Entertainment president Thomas Lesinski, “We look forward to working with Ubisoft and the filmmakers to create exciting new interactive adventures for Tintin. The upcoming video game will reintroduce Tintin to a whole new generation of gamers.”

Guillermo del Toro is on a book tour in LA promoting ‘The Strain’, he will also swing by New York for Fangoria. And while most of us would like to see him back in New Zealand working on ‘The Hobbit’, I am sure many others are excited to meet him!
