Vanderstelt Fellowship Fine ArtJerry Vanderstelt was in the right place at the right time. But it wasn’t luck that landed him there, it was hard work and making his own opportunities. Today this good fortune and hard work culminate when the artist releases a lithograph celebrating “The Fellowship of the Ring,” film released in 2001.

At the San Diego Comic-Con 2001, Elijah Wood walked around the mammoth floor of convention floor drinking in the celebration of popular culture and keeping his eye out for hints of how the world might accept the movie he had worked on that was about to overwhelm popular culture, the first film in Peter Jackson’s “The Lord of the Rings.”

Noble is a 'Journeyman' Asfaloth writes: I don’t know if anyone else is a fan of the NBC Time Traveler show “Journeyman,” but I was pleasantly surprised to see a familiar face on last night’s episode. None other than John Noble! His character is as yet uncredited on the IMDB, but it appears that he’ll be a series regular.

And yet there’s another “Lord of the Rings” tie to this show. “RINGERS: LORD OF THE FANS” Dorm Girl #1 Brittany Ishibashi played Melissa Waters on the episode entitled “The Year of the Rabbit.” I hope that John will be appearing on future episodes – it’s a pretty good show.

Chocolate Fish Cafe to Close? Idril Celebrindal writes: Just wanted to let you know that Salon.com named Cate Blanchett and Brett “Figwit” McKenzie as two of the sexiest men alive in 2007! Cate gets a nod for her turn as Bob Dylan in “I’m Not There” while Brett’s nom comes from “Flight of the Conchords.”Blanchett & McKenzie: Sexy Men

Fellowship of the guitar string Not for the first time in his life, Glaswegian actor Billy Boyd is on a quest. He has already had a fair stab at adventure as Pippin the hobbit in Peter Jackson’s Lord Of The Rings trilogy but, having helped save Middle Earth, his latest mission involves guitars and chords rather than swords and hirsute hobbit feet.

Boyd is the vocalist and guitarist for up and coming four-piece band Beecake. The foursome have got gigs in the States under their belt, a headliner at King Tut’s coming up, interest from record labels and an appearance at next year’s Wickerman Festival. Happily, unlike Boyd’s previous journey, conquering the charts won’t need two hours a day in make-up. Fellowship of the guitar string
