Linuxelf continues to load up the YouTube library of yesteryear. Heading up today’s entries is fun New Zealand television coverage from our own “Return of the One Party”. They (channel 3) call it the “Three Ring Party” and later refer to it as New Line’s party, never quite catching on that it was a fan organized gathering. But they did talk to site friend and expert costumer Judy (look for the beard) and reported from our stage while Emerald Rose is playing.

After the video below are links to fun interviews with the likes of Peter Jackson, Orlando Bloom & Liv Tyler, Viggo Mortensen, Sean Astin, Andy Serkis, Ian McKellen, Billy Boyd, Elijah Wood and John Rhys-Davies as well as footage of fans touring Edoras.

For those paying attention Linuxelf has been building up quite a library on YouTube, all well worth attention. But one of the three newest ones is pretty near and dear to TheOneRing.net. Maybe some have seen this footage but certainly many of us have not.

There is also a haka for LOTR cast and crew
here, and a report on Oscar buzz for “Fellowship of the Ring,” here. Thanks LE!

Michael writes: Just saw your fantastic and well informative RINGERS documentary, and have been a fan of your site for some time. I thought I’d let you all know of a telephone chat I had with Elijah Wood a few years back, its on the blog column I do for the Bay Area based fantasy novelist Tad Williams. Alert the troops, I mean Ringers, please! More..

Today is Elijah Wood’s Birthday! Elijah Jordan Wood (born January 28, 1981) is an American actor. Making his film debut with a minor part in the Back to the Future Part II (1989), he landed a succession of subsequent larger roles and became a critically acclaimed child actor by age 13.

After his high-profile role as the Frodo Baggins in Peter Jackson’s The Lord of the Rings trilogy, he has resisted typecasting by choosing varied roles in critically-acclaimed films such as Bobby, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Sin City, Green Street and Everything Is Illuminated. Most recently he starred in the film Day Zero (2007) and provided the voice of the main character, Mumble, in the award-winning animated film Happy Feet. He also played an American tourist turned vampire in Paris, je t’aime. In 2005, he started his own record label, Simian Records. His next project is the upcoming Iggy Pop biopic The Passenger.

New York, Jan 11 : For the first time, ‘Lord of the Rings’ star Elijah Wood hosted an eating contest – aptly titled Lord of the Wings. The diminutive actor hosted the competition at Epstein”s Bar on the Lower East Side and stayed until 3 a.m. to celebrate with the winners. Overall champ was “Big Dan” Graff, a bartender at Max Fish. “It was a fun night. I ate 14 wings in three minutes,” the New York Post quoted him as saying. More..
