On Saturday October 8th well over 100 visitors came to the Tolkien Shop in Leiden (Holland) to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the only store in the world, entirely dedicated to J.R.R. Tolkien. The shop was cramed with people chatting, drinking and buying. The latter was even more frantic when it was announced that as part of the festivities a store-wide discount of 25% was available.

“Four Tanks and a Healer” is a funny, two-part series created by filmmaker Larry Longstreth (“The Long, Slow Death of a Twenty-Something”, “Batman’s Gonna Get Shot in the Face”) under the watchful eye of “Lord of the Rings” executive producer, Mark Ordesky. The pilot episodes were created in the hopes that they will one day result in a full-fledged series. Watch the Trailer here.
“Four Tanks and a Healer” is an Adult Swim-style look at the lives these people live, from the sole perspective of their in-game characters. Taking place entirely inside an online roleplaying video game, the series follows a group of misfit gamers as they venture across fantastic landscapes and epic quests, all from the comfort of their real-life computer chairs. New York Comic-Con is just around the corner, and fans from all over the east coast will be descending on New York City. TheOneRing.net is proud to have teamed up with the Brooklyn NY chapter of ‘Toys for Tots’ to make our ‘Ringers Take Manhattan‘ party an official drop off for this amazing charity. If you are not familiar with the US Marine Corps ‘Toys for Tots’ program, their mission is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to needy children in the community in which the campaign is conducted. A group of Lord of the Rings fans gathered in San Diego yesterday for a Flashmob dance, in preparation for the big FOTR concert there later this week. It certainly looked like a nice day in the park for it, I’m sure the Hobbits had a wonderful afternoon.
