So, you’ve probably seen and heard Ian Walters’ hilarious filk Gollum-style parody of the Taylor Swift hit I Knew You Were Trouble. If you haven’t go here — it’s superb.

Then I began thinking about Tauriel… and Kili. And those rumours. So, of course, having too much time on my hands and an over-active mind, I started toying with some concepts to see if something might fit the rhyming structure.

Turns out, it kinda does. I call it I thought hot dwarf, and … well … enjoy … or something. Oh, and mad props to TORn Barlichatter Elanesse for the moral support and extra ideas. Continue reading “A Taylor Swift Tauriel (and Kili) parody: I thought hot dwarf”

Barliman's Chat

A couple of weekends ago, we discussed the character of Isildur in Hall of Fire. Was he, we asked, the true shaper of the Third Age? For those who couldn’t attend, here’s a log. And a reminder: tomorrow (Saturday June 8 at 6pm EDT) we’ll be returning to the Hobbit movies for the first time in a while and examining the new details about Tauriel, and what they might mean for the films. With The Hobbit back in desolation-of-smaugproduction this month, a couple of new sets are up at Mt Crawford in Wellington for a 10 week stint of new and pickup shots:

Fairfax NZ news spoke to to Sir Peter Jackson’s spokesman, Matt Dravitzki, said the site on Miramar Peninsula was being prepared for a few days’ filming as part of 10 weeks of final-cut shooting for the last two installments of the trilogy.

“We’re back filming in Miramar for 10 weeks, here till early July. We will be filming on Mt Crawford for a few days.”

In-case you haven’t noticed, the writer of the article did accidentally type the second movie title as ‘The Demolition of Smaug.’ Mistakes happen! Follow the link for the full article and some new SPOILER imagery.  [Click Here]
