Listen to 90-second samples from The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug soundtrack!

November 30, 2013 at 10:02 pm by Demosthenes  -

Orchestra Watertower Music is really teasing everyone with Howard Shore’s sou8ndtrack for The Desolation of Smaug. We’ve had 30-second and 60-second samples, and recently they’ve gone and stretched it out to 90 seconds over on their SoundCloud.

So if you haven’t given it a whirl yet, just click Play below, or (if you’re having trouble) head over to SoundCloud to preview more of Howard Shore’s new thematic material for the second Hobbit film. You can also read our review, if you like.

The full soundtrack will be available on December 10 — on CD and digital release. The end credits song “I See Fire” is available on iTunes now.

Bootnote: Also, as you may have heard, it does seem as though the full soundtrack has leaked out in the last 24 hours via the Warner Bros. For Your Consideration website (apparently it also disappeared from there quite quickly). For obvious reasons we are unable to post links, but here’s hoping that Watertower Music puts up some full tracks for us soon. Thanks to those folks who let us know.
