The Washington Post has posted a series of photos from the Tolkien reenactment that takes place every spring in Doksy, Czech Republic. There are some amazing costumes and battles showcased, but we do have to point out one small detail. We don’t think the warrior with the bikini briefs was a core character in Tolkien’s Middle-earth. Today, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and Snowblind Studios reveal a sneak peek at their E3 offerings, with an onslaught of assets for The Lord of the Rings: War in the North. As our heroes’ travels lead to E3, the Fellowship of three expands to include a new member – heroes will rise.

Namely, Eradin, a roguish character, Andriel, a lore-master (think mage), and Farin, a dwarf who prefers the hack-n-slash method of dispatching orcs and trolls.

These three are sent into the northern regions of Middle-earth to bring down the forces of Agandaur, one of Sauron’s lieutenants, who is raising an army to sweep down and crush any resistance during the War of the Ring. More..
