The great folks over at the MTV Movie blog spoke with Elijah wood recently about the rumors of Guillermo Del Toro directing ‘The Hobbit’ movies. Here’s what Elijah had to say:
“I think [Guillermo’s] the perfect choice,” “Lord of the Rings” star Elijah Wood told MTV News. “I think he would certainly honor the previous work that Peter had done.”

Good news for convention goers! LOTR veteran Brad Dourif (Grima Wormtongue) will be a guest of one of the best conventions in the country — Dragon*Con. Dragon*Con 2008 will be held Labor Day weekend (August 29 – September 1, 2008) in Atlanta, GA and it is a must see event for any fan. Today marks the first day of Toy Fair 2008, a large-scale trade show for the toy industry held in NYC. While Sideshow Collectibles is not in attendance this year, they are running an ‘online’ Toy Fair. Among their other offerings, Sideshow has announced the latest edition to the LOTR 12-inch figure collection, and it is Gandalf the Grey. The first is more expensive than previous figures, but it looks like it has the accessories/costuming to match the cost. Sideshow has also posted the new Legolas Legendary Scale Bust and the ‘Battle Above the Black Gate’ diorama for pre-order.
