We here at TORn have teamed up with our friends at Weta Workshop for a special review of the 1:30 scale Dol Guldur Environment set with figures. This set made its debut during Comic-Con 2016 and since then each piece has come up for order. This entire setup is really awesome! There is so much incredible detail in every piece that makes up this entire sequence. Also, if you have space issues it allows you to add some quality Weta Workshop made pieces, and still have room for the next amazing sequence to come from this line.
One of my favorite things about this set, which covers the Dol Guldur sequence from The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies is that you can create your own battles. You’re not limited by what was decided before you got it, and that gives you so much room to have fun with this set. Ranging from $50 for the figures to $250 for the largest environment piece fans have plenty of wiggle room to create whatever display they’d like. All of the figures Galadriel/Gandalf, Elrond, Witch-king, and Ringwraith of Forod are open editions. Fans will want to make sure to get not wait on any of the environment pieces North Courtyard, South Courtyard, Colonnade, Palantir Courtyard are limited to 500 pieces.

We’re just out of Comic-Con and Weta keeps on delivering new and amazing pieces for us fans to add to our collections. One of the things we’d not seen so far from The Hobbit Trilogy line is one of the many soldiers who aide Sauron, Azog, and Bolg. This has been taken care of with the latest release announcement of the Dol Guldur Orc Soldier. This Orc is brutal, with the blood on his armour, as well as the severed Dwarf heads on the pikes on his back. Fans will want to act quickly to grab this Orc as he’s limited to only 500 pieces with a price tag of $449.
The other new pre-order continues the Dol Guldur 1:30 Scale Collection. Fans can now add the North Courtyard allowing them to continue to build this scene and giving them more scope to recreate this scene in whatever way they want. In-line with the South Courtyard this piece will be limited to 500 pieces and comes in at $149.
As you will recall, Weta has been doing questions in intervals and the winner will receive an autographed set of the 1:30 Dol Guldur set. The fifth and final question has just been released – which means the clock is ticking. Get your entries in before August 31 to go in the draw! Enter the Dol Guldur 1:30 Set Contest.

As you know we currently have an amazing contest going for a signed entire set of Weta Workshop’s 1:30 Dol Guldur scene. Going up for Pre-Order today is the South Courtyard area, which will be limited to only 500 pieces. This fantastic piece captures the broken down, thorny vine, creepy feel that we saw the Dol Guldur sequence during The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies. Not only does it do that but this gives you the freedom to create “what if” this happened during that sequence in the film when other pieces from the 1:30 range are added. The newest Dol Guldur piece comes in with a price tag of $99 and will be shipping in August of 2017.

New items are landing from our friends at Weta Workshop for Pre-Order.
We have the return of the 1:4 helm line that fans have been begging to have back. The new line leads off with the helm of Skully the Orc, who you may recall from The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King. This piece looked absolutely fantastic at Comic-Con, with the skull looking like the real bones from some poor soul. Skully’s helm can be had for $79 and is due to ship in quarter one of next year. Comic-Con 2016 has come to and end. However, I’m here to let you know that we’re just getting started with the excitement over what we saw during last week’s event. In this article, we bring you pictures of the many items that could be found at the Weta Workshop booth. Weta had so many new items this year, and they were all amazing. I can’t wait to get so many of these into my collection. The new items making the show this year that fans can pre-order right now are: Lurtz at Amon Hen, Boromir at Amon Hen, Saruman the White at Dol Guldur, Elven Warrior, and Lady Eowyn of Rohan. Fans also have these superb items to look forward to Galadriel at Dol Guldur, War Troll, Skully Helm, Grond, Gimli at Helm’s Deep, The Witch King at Dol Guldur, and the 1:30 Dol Guldur Environment/mini-figures. Earlier this week this very cool Mini-Ringwraith went up for orders and some of you are starting to have him appear in your collections. I was lucky enough to purchase mine during Comic-Con 2014 and now that he’s available for folks to purchase I thought it was a good time to review this little guy. These mini-statues are a really neat line by Weta as they allow folks to acquire their masterful work at a price that works for any collectors budget.
