Earlier this week we showed you a preview of Smaug from Jerry Vanderstelts upcoming print for The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. Tonight, we’re pleased to let you know that this print is officially up for order! This stunning print has so many of the great things we saw in The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. It includes incredible images of Bilbo, Thorin, Gandalf, Smaug, Azog, Bard, Legolas, Tauriel, Radagast, The Necromancer, and much more. Once again Jerry has made a must have collectible for Middle-earth fans. Fans can snag this print in three different types of displaying options; a Canvas Giclee which can be purchased starting at $325, an Epic Canvas Giclee that also comes in at $325 but is limited to 10 pieces total, and Paper Giclee for just $65. No matter which option you choose this is going to be a stand out item in your collection. So order your print today!
Here’s the second of our four semi-final contestants in our 2014 March Madness contest — Legolas, member of the Fellowship of the Ring.
In this piece, Tolkien scholar Michael Martinez discusses the paradox of Legolas — “both old and young, both wise and yet inexplicably ignorant of the wide world around him”.

Speaking of Legolas…
by Michael Martinez
I decided to set myself a challenge and write something about Legolas which hasn’t been said before. There seems to be a lot of curiosity about this Elf. People want to know all sorts of things about him, such as what color was his hair, who was his mother, when was he born, was he at the Battle of Five Armies?
Our friends at United Cutlery have just released their latest prop replica from The Hobbit Trilogy.
If you saw The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug and wanted to have your own set of the knives Tauriel used with deadly force against more than a couple of the Orcs, then now is the time to get your pre-order in for this beautiful replica of those deadly weapons. You can pre-order them right now for only $219 from a great retailer BUDK, with an expected release date of June this year.
The latest newsletter from our friends at Weta Workshop has been released, included in it is their first environment piece from The Hobbit Trilogy. This amazing piece is one I have been looking forward to arriving, it captures the stunning detail of the Front Gate of Erebor. This fantastic piece has all the little details that we saw in the front gate with those two awesome Dwarven statues. You can pre-order this piece right now for a solid price of $199 with it arriving in your collection sometime between April and May.
Also in the latest newsletter is an item I believe Ringers who like to cosplay or fans of Legolas in general will love. You can add an exact replica of the vambrace that Legolas wears during The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. Each vambrace is made of high quality leather and is ready to ship shortly after ordering. One vambrace comes with a price tag of $99 and will help you put a great finishing touch onto any Middle-earth themed costume.
Tonight, via their Facebook page, Gentle Giant have released details of the next bust in their The Hobbit Trilogy bust line and the first one from The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. The next character being created is none other than Legolas Greenleaf wearing his very cool Elven Armor. That’s not all, we get to see Legolas holding the severed Orc head from the interrogation scene after Thranduil separated the head from the Orc body. Legolas is up for Pre-Order right now for $75 with an estimated shipping date of the fourth quarter of this year.
