Last night we got two new jaw dropping pre-orders from our friends at Weta Workshop. The first is a piece we originally saw during Comic-Con 2016, the War Troll. This amazing large beast is one of the best creature pieces by Weta Workshop. He’s a massive 20″ tall and comes in at over 20lbs. Fans that are interested in ordering this one will want to get their orders in fast, as it has an edition size of only 400 pieces.
The second piece is stunning and one of the most wanted versions of this character. Thorin in his regal armor is a piece I have constantly been asked if I thought was coming since doing Collecting The Precious. I am happy to say fans can now add King Thorin as he is sits on the reclaimed Dwarven Throne inside Erebor. As I said this thing is stunning to look at and will be a must have piece for any collector. If you have the King Thror on Throne then this will give you a fantastic bookend of where the Dwarves were at in Erebor during The Hobbit. King Thorin is limited to 750 pieces worldwide and comes in with a price tag of $449. Both pieces are listed as shipping in October/December of this year.
The next fantastic Weta item we’re going to be taking a look at made its debut at Comic-Con 2014. King Thror on Throne was a surprise to fans like myself, but it is not surprise that Weta has once again shown the ability to rip what we see on screen and put that right into our collections. The piece has amazing details, including the symbol of the Arkenstone on the back of the throne and the rings on Thror’s hands. Despite his all-to-short screen time, I would highly suggest adding this beautiful piece depicting the great king of the Dwarves, Thror, to your collection.
With all the holiday craziness that comes as we hit the holiday season you may have missed a brand-new item from our friends at Weta Workshop that went up for order on Black Friday. King Thror was one of the show stealers from Comic-Con this past July and now fans can add this to their collections.
The King is on sale through tomorrow night for a $50 discount taking him to $299, which is a great price for such a beautiful piece. If you wait and order him after Sunday at midnight then he goes back to his normal retail price of $349, and no matter the price you pay he is an in-stock item so you should have a King ready to show off when you have family/friends over for the Christmas. As you saw in part one of our booth tour our friends at Weta Workshop had a lot of fantastic pieces at Comic-Con 2014. Here in part two you get a little video tour I did on my iPhone during the Con. I hope this little video tour helps add to your excitement of the great things to come to our collections with what we saw during Comic-Con.

Our friends at Weta Workshop have some really fantastic stuff this year at Comic-Con from both The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit. As they announced last year at Comic-Con, The Lord of the Rings 1:6 statue line is back in the hands of Weta and this year we get two fantastic pieces to start that off. The first piece is the Balrog, in a huge scale standing at 21″ tall with a huge footprint because of the base. The other statue is Faramir – who, finally, after eight years since the end of the original The Lord of the Rings 1:6 statue line, gets to come home to us. We also get, for fans of the mini-statue line, a brand new Ringwraith mini-statue, which at the show was only $80.
