IMG_5162As many of you may know when we did our magazine for The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey we took submissions from collectors around the world. A few of these ended up appearing in the magazine allowing people all over the world to see some of what you’ve taken time show off your love for Middle-earth. Recently, I was able to finally able to set up my collection and be able to really appreciate many of the pieces I’ve managed to add. Thankfully the room my stuff in now is large enough to show off everything I’ve got with room to spare for new items from The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit. Even if I’m still getting items out of storage to show off. This collection through ups and downs (selling items) started back in 2003 and continues on for a while. It’s my way of allowing people see what Middle-earth means to me and explain why they’re missing out on such a great universe. I hope you enjoy taking a peek into my collection and what it looks like after its been reviewed.

IMG_3948Gentle Giant brought a few of their Mini-Busts for The Hobbit Trilogy to this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. Fans got a chance to see their Azog, Goblin King with Scribe, Bilbo Baggins, Gollum, and the 2013 PGM Exclusive Dwalin Bust. It was pretty awesome getting a chance to check out all of these busts, but I particularly liked Azog and the Goblin King with Scribe. Both of these busts are massive and looked superb! They are currently available right now from Gentle Giant. So make sure to get your orders in, so you can add these fantastic items to your collection.

“Saruman believes it is only great power that can hold evil in check, but that is not what I have found. I found it is the small everyday deeds of ordinary folk that keep the darkness at bay. Small acts of kindness and love. Why Bilbo Baggins? I don’t know. Perhaps because I am afraid, and he gives me courage.”

-Gandalf to Galadriel during the meeting of the White Council

Gentle Giant since their last release has announced several Mini-Busts for their range of collectibles for The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. One of those busts was of course a very familiar face to fans of Middle-earth in the character of Gandalf the Grey. Well, the wait is over and Gandalf has arrived on our doorsteps ready to be placed in our collections. Gandalf becomes the third bust in this series to go from Pre-Order to item we have, and I will say I think the wait was worth it.

Bilbo1Gentle Giant has announced the next mini-bust in their line of collectibles from The Hobbit Trilogy. After a couple of bad guys in a row, they’ve now gone back to adding another of the good guys to the growing collection that Gentle Giant is creating. The next character to come into our homes will be our favorite burglar himself, Bilbo Baggins. As you can see from the pictures, we get Bilbo holding Sting on the same great marble-like base used with the other releases in this line. Bilbo comes in with a price tag of $70 for non-PGM members and $63 for PGM members. You have time to save up for ordering Bilbo as he isn’t due to ship until the second quarter of 2014.

Aozg1The big week in Middle-earth continues today, with a brand new product from the folks at Gentle Giant.  Following up the massive Goblin King bust is another bad guy from The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey: the pale Orc himself, Azog the Defiler, will be the next bust for sale from Gentle Giant. Azog comes in at nearly 7″ tall, with a price tag of $85 for non-PGM members and $76.50 if you’re a PGM member. You have time to save the coin, with Azog not shipping until the first quarter of next year. You can pre-order Azog right now directly from Gentle Giant’s website.
