Quackingtroll from our own message boards sends along some of what Peter Jackson has been up to by sharing a link to the “Adventures of TinTin” trailer. Written by the master cartoonist Hergé, Tintin is a swashbucking boy who along with his dog and a colorful cast of characters, have many adventures world wide. Jackson has a producer credit and worked with director Steven Spielberg to bring the cartoon character to life. On a personal note, with a love of the source material, I am pretty thrilled by the trailer which captures the look and feel of the reading experience with a high degree of fidelity. Do all of Bilbo’s guests now need 3D glasses to see properly in Bilbo’s home. After seeing Sir Ian McKellen sporting his new shades, we wondered this to ourselves. Or maybe it’s just the wine and ale that’s making everyone see red and blue or double?

Sir Ian McKellen is one very cool wizard… um… guy. On his Flickr account today he’s uploaded a picture that’s truly worth a thousand words. It’s been snapped by none other than Peter Jackson on The Hobbit set.
THE HOBBIT is being filmed in 3D. Even wizards have to wear the glasses.

The BBC America Blog has an interesting interview with Orlando Bloom where his words seem to imply he’s going to be a part of The Hobbit (as, of course, the Elf Legolas).
Here’s one of the statements he makes:
I can’t really discuss it too much at this point, but I’m very excited at the prospect of being a part of it again. I think it will be wonderful to get back there.
