The Official Lord Of The Rings website has undergone a major redesign in anticipation of the upcoming Blu Ray release of the Theatrical Editions of the films, available April 6, 2010.
Subscribers of the Warner Bros. newsletter will have received an official Lord of the Rings newsletter less than an hour ago with an alert to the same.
Much of the site is still in the process of being updated, and while most of the links currently display “Coming soon”, some of the newer links are relevant to the Blu Ray release such as “Bly Ray & DVD” and “The Restoration Process”.
Tom from dvdactive.com sends along news the Peter Jackons’s ‘The Lovely Bones’ will be out on DVD and Blu-ray on April 20th. More details: Paramount Home Entertainment has announced 1-disc DVD ($19.99) and 2-disc Blu-ray ($29.99) releases of The Lovely Bones for the 20th April. We have no word on any extra material for the 1-disc DVD – if anything is included we’ll let you know just as soon as we hear anything. The 2-disc Blu-ray however will include an extensive production diary in 15 segments hosted by Peter Jackson and Philippa Boyens that follows the film’s shoot and post-production work on the visual effects. Tom and the folks at dvdactive.com send along updated info on the LOTR Animated DVDs hitting the shelves in April: Warner Home Video has revealed details on DVD ($19.98) and Blu-ray ($29.99) releases of Lord of the Rings Animated which will arrive in stores from the 6th April. Extras will include a Forging Through The Darkness: The Ralph Bakshi Vision for The Lord of the Rings featurette, and a digital copy. More..
