The next item from United Cutlery we’re previewing this week is the sword of Gandalf himself Glamdring. Also known as Foe-Hammer, this sword is found by Gandalf in the treasure trove of items the three trolls had stanched away in their cave. Beater, as its known by the Orcs, was once the sword to the King of Gondolin and is the twin sword of Thorin’s sword Orcrist. This sword has been created in stunning detail from the prop created for Sir Ian McKellen to use as he plays Gandalf the Grey in The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. Fans can pre-order this piece right now for $190 from Budk.com and it will be  in stock in December of this year. UC is also running a contest to win one of the cooler swords wielded by any villian in The Lord of the Rings. All you have to do is enter this awesome contest for the sword of The Witch-King which ends November 14, 2012 at 10 am EST.

United Cutlery, makers of some of best sword replicas on the market, is back in Middle-Earth! UC will be creating replicas of many of the items you will see in this winter’s The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. Over the next several days we will introduce the many items that UC has up on their website now, as well as items that will be coming out in the future for collectors to add to their collections. The first item we bring to you is Bilbo’s sword Sting which has been recreated in stunning detail. Of course, every sword needs a scabbard so collectors will also be able to purchase Sting’s scabbard. Sting can be Pre-Ordered from Budk right now for $130. The scabbard will be available for Pre-Order in December.

Last week, the artisans at Weta announced 19 amazing items for The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, including the Key to Erebor, Thorin’s Map, Thorin Oakenshield statue, Gandalf The Grey statue, Bilbo Baggins statue, Art Prints, Map replicas, and much more. All of the items are up for Pre-Order now with several of them being in-stock ready to arrive to your collection. To celebrate the arrival of these great items, TheOneRing.net and Weta teamed up to give away two of them: Thorin’s Map and the Key to Erebor. Both contests were highly popular with entries hitting the 500 mark for each. It was obvious by all these emails that fans wanted to get one of these amazing collectibles shipped and on the way to their house. We’re happy to announce that the winner of Thorin’s Map is C. Bull of Australia and the winner of the Key to Erebor is B. Sprinkle of Virgina. Congratulations to you both!

Details coming soon….!!!

Update: as  hinted in the circle in the top right of the pictured magazine, The One Ring.net has partnered with Topix Media Lab to produce a  beautiful collector’s edition magazine about The Hobbit. Side-bars and feature articles, contributed by TORn staff, include interviews, character and actor profiles, a comparison of the book vs. the movie, articles on games and collectibles, a wonderful Middle-earth timeline and much, much more. The magazine is also packed with colorful pictures of cast and crew members, locations, collectibles, gorgeous fan art and a few exclusives! One thing that makes this truly a collector’s edition is that there are only two ads in the entire magazine. The magazine hit shelves in the last 24 hours in stores such as Barnes & Noble and Wal-Mart, but be sure and also look anywhere magazines are sold.  It is currently only available in the U.S., so be especially nice to your U.S. friends and maybe they’ll find one or two and send them along.

We at TheOneRing would like to thank all of you who come visit us an who have helped make our journey together the best fan experience ever. Following is our tribute to you from inside the magazine: “J.R.R. Tolkien wrote some of the most inspiring novels of all time. “The Lord of the Rings” trilogy and “The Hobbit” have inspired television specials, movies, musicals, and now, this magazine. But this isn’t a book about The Hobbit (though there’s plenty of coverage of Peter Jackson’s upcoming films). This is about you, the fans. TheOneRing.net has covered all things Tolkien for more than ten years, and was forged for fans, by fans. This tribute magazine is created in that spirit.

Following up on the fantastic start to their The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey line of collectibles, these next three items will surely be must haves for anyone collecting Hobbit items. Last night, our friends from The Noble Collection released previews of three awesome, fully cast bronze statues of Bilbo Baggins, Gandalf The Grey, and Thorin Oakenshield. Pre-Orders for these three amazing items start in just ten days, when The Hobbit section of their website goes live, but you do have time to save up – these won’t be shipping until December.

Full breakdown of these three items after the break:
