I was a guest with Sylvester McCoy and sat in on an interview he did with a Dr Who fansite. I was able to record the interview. Sylvester and I caught up during the event as we had spent some time together with Ian McKellen and Jonathon Hyde when they were out in NZ with the Royal Shakespeare Company a couple of years ago. A WEST Berkshire actor has landed a dream role in the hotly anticipated forthcoming film adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien’s famous novel, ‘The Hobbit’.

Thirty-year-old Adam Brown, of Hungerford, better known in Newbury as one half of the successful comedy stage duo Plested and Brown, exclusively told Newburytoday.co.uk that he is thrilled to have been selected to play the part of Ori, alongside James Nesbitt and Martin Freeman.

Mr Brown, a former pupil of John O’Gaunt Community Technology College in Hungerford, said: “I’m hugely excited to be involved and it still hasn’t really sunk in yet.

“It’s a fantastic opportunity for me as an actor and will be an amazing experience working with the rest of the cast and Peter Jackson.”

In an exclusive interview with DigitalSpy, GDT talks about 3D and The Hobbit:

Guillermo del Toro has revealed that he doesn’t want to shoot his proposed Frankenstein movie in 3D.

Taking part in a Twitter Q&A with Digital Spy, the Pan’s Labyrinthdirector dismissed the notion that 3D doesn’t suit cinema, citing AvatarToy Story 3 and How To Train Your Dragon as examples of movies that have used the format to good effect.

However, del Toro admitted that he doesn’t believe the new technology is suitable for every movie: “I don’t want to see Jane Austen’s Pride And Prejudice and see Mr Darcy in 3D. I don’t want to see Wuthering Heights in 3D.”

The director admitted that he had no interest in making The Hobbit in 3D when he was attached to the project, and went on to discuss the various movies he has in development.
