Back in January, we told you about the amazing figures created by a fan in the UK – incredibly detailed characters from The Hobbit movies,  all made by knitting! (Check them out in our article, here.) Now Denise Salway, known as ‘The Knitting Witch’, has created another amazing piece – a jacket, telling the tale of The Hobbit in details all over this fabulous item of clothing. Denise says:
Many Middle-earth fans will be familiar with the independent film Rise of the Fellowship, from director Ron Newcomb, who is himself a passionate Tolkien fan. Newcomb has teamed up again with producer Scott Mathias to launch a new project, which should appeal to all fantasy lovers. The proposal is for a web series about a group of Rangers guarding an ancient realm; The Lord of the Rings, George R R Martin’s Song of Ice and Fire, and Dungeons and Dragons are all cited as influences for this new tale. Going by Newcomb’s previous award winning work, The Rangers should be something to look out for! You can read more about this project here; and take a look at the teaser trailer, below: Continue reading “From the makers of Rise of the Fellowship – a new project”
“People always say that one does not simply walk into Mordor. We want to show them that one in fact drives into Mordor.”** UK satire website The DailyMash has come up with this amusing take on the old “one does not simply walk into Mordor” chestnut. Enjoy!
Actress Evangeline Lilly (Tauriel) will be participating in a live chat with fans tomorrow, Thursday, March 6, at 12:oopm PST, on Facebook. Lilly says she will be discussing “The Hobbit” films and her character, Tauriel. Based on past experiences with the fan-friendly actress, it should be a fun opportunity!
