Garfeimao here, finally over my jet lag, mostly unpacked, and sort of caught up at work now. This is going to be a bit of a review of the Cruise portion of the Cruise to Middle earth, with part 2 containing the review of Land excursions and part 3 containing the many thanks I need say.

Welcome to the Celebrity Millennium, our home during the Cruise to Middle-earth as it sailed from Auckland, New Zealand to Sydney, Australia. Continue reading “Cruise to Middle earth, the review (part 1)”

Sir Ian McKellen
Sir Ian McKellen
Sir Ian McKellen is to return to the role of Walter, which he played in the eponymously-titled Film Four production on Channel 4’s opening night more than 25 years ago, in a new play for BBC Radio 4. The new play, called Walter Now, will reveal what has happened to McKellen’s character, who has learning difficulties and is now a pensioner living in a hostel after many years in a psychiatric hospital. Writer David Cook, who wrote the original Walter and its 1983 sequel Walter and June, both directed by Stephen Frears, has also written the latest instalment for Radio 4. He began writing it as a screenplay before adapting it for radio. Sir Ian McKellen to revisit role of Walter for BBC Radio 4 play

Heidi from Bloomberg Television sends this in: Friday on the BLOOMBERG TELEVISION® program “Night Talk,” host Mike Schneider talks to Actor Viggo Mortensen about his latest film “Good.”

He talks about the success of The Lord of the Rings. “I think that anybody that was involved in that project, or any fan even, that says ‘I knew it was going to be huge box office success,’ I don’t think they’re being honest. I think its revisionist thinking. Because when we were shooting that movie…it just wasn’t a known thing, and it wasn’t really noticed that we were down there shooting this all that time. It wasn’t in the papers here. It was only when they showed 20 minutes of it at the Cannes film festival in 2001 that the journalist started talking.” Continue reading “TV Watch: Viggo Mortensen on ‘Night Talk’”
