NY Times writes about 3D resistance in Hollywood, TORn’s own quoted

August 4, 2010 at 4:23 pm by MrCere  -

Michael Cieply at the New York Times has written a nice piece about how resistance against 3D is forming in Hollywood. He used many sources from Comic-Con and says that filmmakers may carry more clout with studios than people who cough up money to see films. He also quotes a TORn article and our own webmaster in the story that talks about an issue important to film fans world wide.

I don't understand why it bothers people so much… you can always just watch the standard version. Why stomp on other people's fun?

  2. Silivren says:

its just the high volume of 3D movies that are being pushed out now. and not all of them have good 3D. its like the videogame crash of 1983.

Then don’t watch the 3D version. Nobody has a gun to your head. Why is everyone so bent-out-of-shape over the possibility of ‘The Hobbit’ getting a 3D release? I can understand why the producers would resist the extra workload, but why are so many fans so upset about it? It’s not as if 3D movies are going to force 2D out; just buy a regular ticket, watch the version you like, and let the 3D fans watch their 3D movies. Live and let live.
