The latest news in the director of ‘The Hobbit’ films saga comes from the mouth of Guillermo Del Toro himself, via an interview with EMPIRE magazine:
“I wish it was definite, but it isn’t,” he told us. “It’s still in talks, there are still a lot of ‘T’s to cross and ‘I’s to dot. It’s certainly not certain yet…But, as far as I’m concerned, [if it was definite] I would be packed in ten seconds”.

Following a revealing EA presentation, the Mercenaries studio confirms new title in the franchise based on Peter Jackson’s J.R.R. Tolkien-inspired films.
Yesterday’s headlines were dominated by a fusillade of announcements from Electronic Arts following the publisher’s meeting with investors. During the event, EA CEO John Riccitiello gave a presentation and talked about his company’s future strategy. Besides revealing some optimistic financial projections and new game titles, the executive put up a slide to reveal that Pandemic Studios, the critically acclaimed shop behind Full Spectrum Warrior and the forthcoming Mercenaries 2, is working on a game based on the Lord of the Rings films. Tolkien’s literary imagination to vivid life with his Academy®- and Grammy® Award-winning score to Peter Jackson’s film adaptation of The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring. Shore crafted a fully-developed musical epic that related the classic tale with moving and intricately related themes for each of Middle-earth’s cultures and charted the One Ring’s journey with an exhilarating flourish.
Upon its 2001 arrival, Shore’s score, composed for large symphony orchestra, adult and boys choruses and instrumental and vocal soloists, was proclaimed an instant classic.
