Ted Nasmith himself dropped me a line asking to promote this fundraiser for a worthy cause, take a look! Just a quick email to let everyone know that 2 original pieces of Ted Nasmith’s work will be on a 10 day auction on ebay starting at 10pm today (UK time).
Tom Bombadil and The River Daughter and also Luthien Escapes upon Huan. Although both pieces should sell for around £4000 each they have a start price of only £1250 each and no reserve. The proceeds from the sale are all going towards urgently needed medical expenses for a loved member of Ted’s family so please give generously and bid early.

Martin’s “Not a Blog” the latest Calendar of paintings of locations from his “Song of Ice and Fire” fantasy series will be illustrated by none other than LOTR illustrator Ted Nasmith. According to Martin’s website, the calendar will be debuting from publisher Bantam Spectra at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con in July.
For fans of Westros and other “Ice and Fire” environs, this series is currently in production with HBO starring Sean Bean. (But you already knew that…) I’m sure that Ted Nasmith isn’t the last LOTR alum to hop onboard this blockbuster fantasy series! Here’s the link with pictures. More..
