In the age old battle of which ‘trilogy’ is better, we all know the correct answer is The Lord of the Rings. Of course, there is no comparison. Lucas destroyed his original invention with poorly executed re-editing, bad cg and….sorry, started getting off track there. (*cough* Let’s look at the Academy Award wins too folks…) But Anyway…. Ringer Elf Wannabee has posted a link to a video at Parallel Universe that attempts to solve the situation, once and for all, in a battle to the death. I won’t spoil it for you, but the video sucks. πŸ˜› [View Video] [Discuss in our Forum] And if were not already aware, we have a whole forum devoted to these types of ‘battles.’ It’s called ‘The Arena‘ and is just waiting for you to chime in.

PARK CITY, Utah — Orlando Bloom is was at the Sundance Film Festival promoting “Sympathy For Delicious,” an independent film directed by Mark Ruffalo. Bloom, of course, was launched to fame by his turn as practically divine (looking) Elf Legolas in Peter Jackson’s film trilogy, “The Lord of The Rings.”

Variety had a sit-down with New Line chief Toby Emmerich about the state of the modest, smaller and newly profitable New Line film studio and its new existence under the Warner Bros. umbrella. The conversation turned of course to “The Hobbit.” We learn, among other things that executive Michael Disco will oversee the two movies for the studio. Variety also spoke with Warner’s Alan Horn who, according to the article, “… won’t predict when the first of the two “Hobbit” films will be out, but says the most probable scenario would be a release in the fourth quarter of 2012.”

It concludes with, “It’s a big bet for us. But it’s one we think will pay off given the success of ‘Lord of the Rings,'” says Emmerich. “This is one of the few movies it feels like people are waiting for.”

We know a few people who are indeed waiting for these films. In fact that “2012” date that just got thrown around may start a riot. Remember fans, biting your nails and tearing out you hair will not make things happen faster, nor will turning over cars or looting – the latter two reactions only lead to jail time. Site friend Sohaib was kind enough to write and remind us that a recent segment with the OneRing.net is available for a listen on that crazy World Wide Web. Sohaib takes listeners with him as he looks back on “The Lord of The Rings,” franchise a decade later. Enjoy!
