The Den of Geek has an interview with Andy Serkis in which Andy, like the majority of the other LOTR alum, express interest in ‘The Hobbit’ films:
“
Den of Geek: …Would you be looking to get involved in The Hobbit?
Andy: Yeah, well if The Hobbit happens, and there’s reason to believe that it will, then I think I’m in with a chance! Gollum is very much part of The Hobbit, after all.”
He sure is Andy! We have a tough time believing their is anyone out there who thinks Andy should not return for a second stint at Gollum. [Read the Full Interview]

stormcrow20 writes: Popmatters has an article on the career of Christopher Lee. Relevant excerpt: Lee not only has impressive knowledge of golf and film, he also in something of an expert on the work of J.R.R. Tolkien.
“I remember first reading `The Lord of the Rings’ back in the 1950s,” Lee said. “I thought they would make great movies, but technically it couldn’t be done back then. I envisioned myself playing Gandolf (eventually played by Ian McKellen) but I did end up getting the part of Saruman.” Continue reading “Christopher Lee willing to return as Saruman?”

Making The Hobbit has not been an easy task since Lord of the Rings director Peter Jackson got into a legal battle with studio New Line Cinema over royalties – a fight that may be close to being settled after a lot of name calling.
