The Lord of the Rings voice of Sauron and the One Ring, Alan Howard, passed away on Saturday, February 14, after being hospitalized for pneumonia. Mr. Howard was 77 years old. His chilling performance as the voice of Sauron gave power to the specter of the Dark Lord.
Born on August 5, 1937 in London, England, Howard died peacefully in hospital in Hampstead, London, England surrounded by his family. He was a member of the Royal Shakespeare Company and nephew of Gone With The Wind actor, Leslie Howard.
