Five things we loved about the second The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug trailer

October 1, 2013 at 9:45 am by newsfrombree  -

Thorin_Oakenshield Earlier today, the second (third, if you count the abbreviated international trailer shown in some regions) trailer for the Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug debuted internationally.

If you haven’t already seen it, you can check it out here. If you have, then here’s five things that we particularly loved about this trailer. Have a read, then let us know whether you agree? What were your favourite moments?

Dragonfire and ruin. That is what you will bring upon us! He cannot see beyond his own desire! Bard the Bowman

The incredible Benedict Cumberbatch as Smaug’s voice: “Well, thief. Where are you? Come now, don’t be shy. Step into the light.”

– Smaug (the Stupendous).

Balin’s evident respect for Bilbo as he tells Thorin, somewhere within the bowels of Erebor: “His name is Bilbo.”
– Balin son of Fundin.

Gandalf’s foreboding line as he walks across a bridge into Dol Guldur: “We have been blind. And in our blindness, our Enemy has returned.”
– Gandalf the Grey.

Bilbo fighting the great spiders of Mirkwood all alone.
– Bilbo Baggins, Ring-winner and Luckwearer.

A spectacular flash of a “a great Eye, lidless, wreathed in flame.” (It’s a Lord of the Rings movie quote but it works here!)
– The Dark Lord Sauron.
