Check these out! Ringer Rachel picked up some new LOTR related bookmarks at her local bookstore yesterday. [More]

Just got this report from Ringer Fan Rachel from www.RevolutionSF.com:

Hi.
I was shopping in my local Books-A-Million yesterday, and I found the coolest new Lord of the Rings bookmarks.  I don’t believe that I’ve seen pictures of these on TORN, so I scanned the two I purchased (see attached).

They look like standard plastic bookmarks with the tassel.  Each one was dedicated to a character from the films.  I saw Ringwraiths, Gandalf, Lurtz, Strider, Boromir, Frodo, Bilbo, and a One Ring bookmark with the poem on it.  The best part is that some of the bookmarks come with a heavy gold ring attached to the tassle.  The ring bears the Elvish script on the inside and outside.  The ring only came attached to the bookmarks for Boromir, Frodo, Bilbo, and the Ringwraiths (Only those who either carried or sought the Ring).

I bought Frodo and Boromir.  The picture of Frodo is the standard “Frodo with Sting” picture which we’ve seen quite often.  The one of Boromir is new to me.  It shows Boromir blowing his horn, which I haven’t seen before.

The bookmarks without a ring were $1.69.  The bookmarks with a ring were $2.29.

The October issue of UK’s “Total Film” magazine includes 2 large double sided posters for LotR and Planet of the Apes. The LotR poster has the four hobbits with swords drawn at Weathertop, and Arwen at the Ford. FOTR gets top billing, 2 pages and lots of photos in their movie preview feature article.

The Oct/Nov issue of Barnes & Noble’s Sci-Fi/Fantasy newsletter “Explorations” has 5 pages devoted to LotR, including a nice interview w/ PJ, pictures of the new books and a contest. The new movie tie-in books are prominently displayed at my local store, including a Gandalf Standee/Book rack.

Scans coming soon!

You can catch Brad Dourif (Wormtongue) in a few places these days. First you may have seen him in the new western/drama ‘Ponderosa’, Dorif plays ‘Frenchy’ in this story of the Cartwright family in 1849 Nevada.

You may have seen him in the horror fest tribute video ‘Boogeymen’, this video shows all the best gore scenes from the top rated horror films (if there is such a thing). You can see Dourif do his ‘Chucky’ thing to, pardon the expression, death.

Yes…even with my evil cold I manage to gather all this info for you folks (sob mode cancel). Check out this weeks list of small screen goodies from the LOTR stars! [More]
