SciFi.comSciFi.com caught up with director Guillermo del Toro at the Saturn Awards and talked to him a bit about the upcoming ‘Hobbit’ films. Del Toro had this to say about his adaptation of ‘The Hobbit:’

“I’m trying to be faithful,” del Toro said in an interview after accepting the George Pal Memorial Award at the Saturn Awards in Universal City, Calif., on June 24. “Like, when I was trying to create a screenplay about Tarzan and people asked me, ‘Is it going to be horror?’ I said, ‘No, no, no.’ The thing is, I’m trying to re-create on the screen the feeling I had when I was 11 in my bed reading the book. How excited I got. How great I thought it was. That’s what I’m trying to honor.”

Doug Jones and GDTIn an interview with IESB.net, actor Doug Jones (who is one of Guillermo del Toro’s regulars) and director Guillermo del Toro had a wonderful banter about the possiblity of Doug Jones appearing in the Hobbit. Guillermo had this to say:

“I believe he (Doug Jones) will be there. I’ll give him a very hard thing (to do). That will be very difficult for him to pull off. He will suffer and he will spend long hours in make-up. That is all I can say.”

To this Doug Jones replied, “And what else is new?”
